V6Direct IPv6 transit & BGP docs
V6Direct provides community IPv6 transit over WireGuard, GRE, and VxLAN/L2TPv3 tunnels, full IPv6 BGP tables, and low-latency 1G/10G ports across EU PoPs.
Use these guides to bring up a tunnel, install BIRD and Pathvector, and deploy a production-ready BGP setup for your ASN.
Where to start
1. Bird & Pathvector installation
Install BIRD2 and Pathvector on Ubuntu/Debian, either via packages or your own install script, then generate BGP configs.
2. GRE / VxLAN / WireGuard tunnel setup
Follow the tunnel tutorial to bring up a secure IPv6 path to the nearest V6Direct PoP using your preferred protocol.
3. Pathvector configuration
See a complete Pathvector example for peering your ASN with V6Direct (AS213413), including prefix export and import policy.
4. Optional: peering
Document IX peering, multi-homing, and how to use the V6Direct dashboard and metrics endpoints for monitoring.
5. Optional: monitoring

Requirements
- A public IPv4 or IPv6 address to terminate the tunnel.
- A router / VM that supports WireGuard, GRE, or VxLAN/L2TPv3.
- Your own ASN (recommended) or a private ASN for a single-homed setup.
